ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the political and economic conditions prevailing in Thailand. A public statement has been made by the Malaysian government, declaring that an earlier report about the deportation of 130 Thai Muslims back to their country of origin, is a case of miscommunication. On the economic front, it is expected that disinflation would continue in Thailand in the coming months and would culminate in the return of positive real interest rates. The Thai equity market is likely to show growth in the coming months by gaining from investment inflows.
