ABSTRACT
The article comments on South Africa's political and economic progress. The political scene of South Africa has been relatively predictable after the democratization in 1994. But there has been some periods of concerns also like the of inter-ethnic violence in KwazuluNatal, the rise and fall of various opposition parties, incidences of official corruption, and bouts of labour unrest. The dominance of the African National Congress has been the main thrust behind the country's fast growing international confidence.
