ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the political and economic conditions in Cambodia. Politician Cheam Channy of the opposition Sam Rainsy party has been sentenced to seven years in prison for illegally trying to form an armed group. Cambodia, like other countries in the region, is currently struggling with rising energy prices. In a bid to find a solution to the problem, the government has ordered government agencies to cut fuel use by 10%. Carlsberg, the Danish brewer, has acquired a 50% stake of domestic brewer Cambrew Ltd. for an undisclosed fee.
