ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the political and economic conditions in Cambodia. Cambodia's exiled opposition leader, Sam Rainsy, has called on the international community to put pressure on the Cambodian government to reverse its decision to lift his parliamentary immunity. In its most recent report on the Cambodian economy, the Asian Development Bank has said that the ending of the textile quota system, that is, the "Multi-Fibre Arrangement," will cut economic growth in Cambodia in 2005, and the economy will also struggle in 2006 and 2007.
