ABSTRACT
The article presents information on political, economic and business risks of Laos. Laos is likely to remain broadly stable in the short and medium term, including in the run up to the next year's party Congress. Real GDP growth is likely to strengthen in 2005 to around 7.5% compared with around 6.1% in 2004. Based on a range of figures, foreign investment inflows into Laos are currently quite buoyant. This reflects various factors, including low labor costs and recent improvements to the investment regime introduced by the government.
