ABSTRACT
The article presents information on political and economic conditions in Cambodia. Cambodia has cleared the way for the trial of the remaining members of the Khmer Rouge regime, after the government ratified an agreement with the United Nations to set up a genocide trial. Gross domestic product growth is forecast to slow in 2005, according to both the International Monetary Fund and Asian Development Bank which are forecasting growth of 1.4 percent and 2.3 percent respectively. Cambodia's economy is forecast to grow by 5.5 percent in 2004, but by just 3.5 percent in 2005.
