Country Report
Country Report
This article presents information on country risk to investments in Vietnam. International donors have pledged to provide Vietnam with U.S. $2.84bn in development aid in 2004. The rise, which reflects increased donor confidence in Vietnam, came despite continued concerns over human rights abuses in the country and growing scepticism over how the money is spent. Vietnam's trade deficit widened significantly in 2003. The country's export earnings went up 19% in 2003 to U.S. $19.8bn mainly due to rising crude oil and textile exports.
