ABSTRACT
This article presents information on country risk to investments in Burma. In a measure which should provide boost to the economy of Burma, the Japanese government has announced it will resume aid donations to the country. Aid donations were suspended in May 2003 and their resumption is seen as a reward for the freeing of 30 political prisoners earlier this year. The economy of Burma is however still suffering from the impact of U.S. and European Union sanctions, which were also imposed in May 2003.
