ABSTRACT
The article presents information on various economic developments in Cambodia. Leaders of Cambodia's three main political parties have finally agreed to forge a joint coalition government, to be led by the Cambodian People's Party. Cambodia's short-term political risk rating remains on 60.0 with a upgrade possible in the next review. Cambodia's economy remains overwhelmingly dependent on the foreign-invested garment sector, which in 2002 contributed to 96.5% of exports and accounts for 36% of Cambodia's GDP. Cambodia's short-term economic risk rating remains on 54.0 despite an uncertain outlook for the textile sector. Cambodia's short-term composite rating remains on 56.9.
