Expectations are beginning to rise regarding Thailand's economic prospects. Monthly indicators remained robust through Q2 and consumer confidence is at a record high. 2003 real GDP growth forecast remains unchanged at 4.8% for now. A poll of six Western banks plus the ADB and IMF gives a consensus forecast of 4.6% for real GDP growth in 2003. The government planning agency, the National Economic and Social Development Board, has revised it real GDP growth forecast to 4.5%-5.5% from a previous estimate of 4%-5%.
