ABSTRACT
The article presents a case study of a 45-year-old male patient with abdominal pain and distension. It describes the patient's condition whose laboratory examinations showed no sign for hypersplenism and were normal. However, computed tomography revealed a 12 centimeter cystic mass on the spleen and underwent total splenectomy. The patient was diagnosed with hydatid cysts which are reportedly endemic in Mediterranean countries, Southern Europe, Australia, and South America.
