ABSTRACT
Indexes that appear in both print and online forms raise questions about how to present the same information in two different formats. My discussion of the B.C. Hansard Index to political debates explores the challenges and opportunities that arise from trying to meet the needs of users in the two environments. I include a description of the process the B.C. Hansard uses to publish indexes online as hyperlinked, back-of-the-book style indexes, facilitated by dedicated book indexing software and an index conversion utility with customized software.
