ABSTRACT
A case report is presented on precursor T-cell acute lymphoblastic lymphoma or leukemia (pre-T ALL) which mimicks a primary tongue neoplasm. The case study is an 85-year-old male hospital patient with dyspnea, fatigue, and a neck mass whose medical history includes heavy smoking and alcohol abuse. The diagnosis and treatment of pre-T All is discussed.

Background: T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is a highly aggressive hematologic malignancy. Immune tolerance induced by CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) with high expression of Foxp3 is an important hypothesis for poor therapy response. Notch1 signaling is thought to be involved...

The antitumour enzyme L-asparaginase (L-asparagine amidohydrolase, EC 3.5.1.1, ASNase), which catalyses the deamidation of L-asparagine (Asn) to L-aspartic acid and ammonia, has been used for many years in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Also NK tumours, subtypes of myeloid...

Deregulated Notch signaling has been extensively linked to T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Here, we show a direct relationship between Notch3 receptor and Jagged1 ligand in human cell lines and in a mouse model of T-ALL. We provide evidence that Notch-specific ligand Jagged1 is a...
