Case Study
A case report on a rare instance of paratracheal hydatid cyst in a 7-year-old boy is presented. A bilobed cystic mass was found on the left side of the trachea and below the thyroid gland. After excision, the hydatic origin of the mass was determined to be the cestode Echinococcus granulosus. Information is given about diagnosing cervical hydatid cysts.
