ABSTRACT
The article presents a case study of a 49-year-old HIV-positive man with secondary syphilis, who was diagnosed with thermal-induced injury or erythema ab igne. The man had a reticulated, erythematous patch on his abdomen after using an electric heating pad overnight for comfort. He was advised to stop the use of heating pad, and the patch slowly disappeared in four days. The article also discusses erythema ab igne, skin biopsy, and Squamous and Merkel cell carcinomas.
