Case Study
The author presents the case of a 25-year old man who reported pain in the right upper quadrant on exertion. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed communicating vessels between the right and middle hepatic veins and a membranous septum at the confluence of the middle and left hepatic veins and the inferior vena cava. The patient was successfully treated with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty.
