ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which examined the use of xenon and isoflurane in patients undergoing elective surgery. According to the study, the administration of anaesthesia with xenon does not reduce heart contractility and enables haemodynamic stability. On the other hand, the use of isoflurane can lead to a decrease in the contractile index.
