ABSTRACT
The article describes the case of a 17-year-old African American male who was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains. He had purulent abscesses and erythema on his right leg and was diagnosed to have septic pulmonary embolism (SPE) secondary to soft tissue infection. It also discusses the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that revealed cellulitis and abscesses and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
