The article presents a case study of a 15-year-old female who was admitted after five hours of injury from being struck in motor vehicle accident. Topics mentioned include the diagnosis of renal artery thrombosis (RAT), the preservation of the right renal function through close conservative therapy, and the discussion on the rareness of the injury which is followed by blunt trauma on the abdomen.

Renal artery injury is a rare complication of blunt abdominal trauma. Increasing use of CT scans to evaluate blunt abdominal trauma identifies more blunt renal artery injuries (BRAIs) that may have otherwise been missed. We identified patients with BRAI to examine the incidence and to evaluate...

Traumatic blunt abdominal bilateral renal artery thrombosis is a rare entity leading to end stage renal disease and has significant morbidity due to renal replacement therapy. Previously many attempts of revascularisation beyond 24 h have led to failure. We report a case of delayed...

In the setting of abdominal trauma, laparoscopy is used mainly for diagnosis, and its role in definitive operative repair is still debated. We report the case of a 50-year-old woman who underwent diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy after being subjected to blunt abdominal trauma in a traffic...
