ABSTRACT

The article presents information about the book "Science for Survival: Scientific Research and the Public Interest," by Peter Cotgreave. The author has chosen an eclectic list of topics as backdrops for the discussion of issues that contribute towards the development of science policy. The eight chapters focus on areas as diverse as the environment, unemployment, defence and pensions. The debates that have taken place on these and other topics, and the handling of the inherent science and technology by the various stakeholders, are engagingly described.
