The Coral Tooth or Hericium coralloides is a fungus that forms a large shelf-like clump of numerous branching stems emerging from a fleshy base. Each branch features several pendent white spines on the underside and a group of longer spines hanging down at the end. The Tiered Tooth or Hericium cirrhatum is a species that forms large tiers of overlapping shelves or brackets. Its flesh smells and tastes pleasant.
