ABSTRACT
A part of the book "The ESL Science Book," by John F. Chabot and Kirk Schriefer is presented. It discusses the struggle of Chester Carlson in order to make the photocopier a success. It mentions that the invention of the photocopier started in 1937 through a wooden box for making copies and later came to be known as xerography. Haloid saw potential in eletrophotography and entered into an agreement with Batele Memorial Institute, a research institute who funded Chet's invention.
