ABSTRACT
Chapter 7 of the book "Ascent to Mona As Illustrated by a Short History of Jamaican Medical Care" is presented. It focuses on physicians who became significant figures in the field of medicine in the 20th century Jamaica. One of them was Doctor Richard Cory who started as a chest physician during the days when tuberculosis was rampant in the island. Other significant figures were Doctor Alfred Carnegie, who is said to have obtained the greatest academic reputation and Doctor Herbert Morrison, who was appointed to Montego Bay as surgeon.
