Chapter 22 of the book "Peterson's Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" is presented. It stresses the importance of stability of fracture segments to proper hard and soft tissue healing in the injured area. It explains the two radiographic views necessary to evaluate the presence of a mandibular fracture in patients. It says that follow-up visits should be applied as reinforcement sessions in patients who have undergone open reduction internal fixation.
