A biography of R. B. Kitaj, a Jewish American painter of the twentieth century, is presented. Kitaj was born in 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio and was an eventual emigre to England. His works are built on metaphors and allegories. He read extensively his Jewish roots, and particularly, of the Holocaust which have an impact on his works.
