A biography of Chinese-American fashion designer Vera Wang is presented. She was born on June 27, 1949 to a wealthy family. When she was a young girl, Wang was one of the top ten figure skaters in the U.S. She worked as a fashion editor for "Vogue magazine" before she became a design director for Ralph Lauren. In 1990, Wang opened her own design salon in the Carlyle Hotel in New York, where she sold wedding dresses she designed.
