ABSTRACT
A biography of Robert Hellenga, author of short stories, scholarly essays, and novels, is presented. He was born on August 5, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended various universities to study, Greek and English, comparative literature, and a doctoral program in English. He was a married man with two daughters. He was given awards such as fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Illinois Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
