ABSTRACT
This article presents a biography of Alan Keyes, a U.S. Republican politician and 2007 presidential candidate. Throughout his political career, Keyes has remained one of the most prominent African American conservatives in modern US politics. Particular focus is given to his early life and background, and his various political campaigns, beginning in 1996 with his first campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. The article also addresses the politician's views on key issues.
