ABSTRACT
The article profiles Harry Wheeler, a U.S. cavalryman, a sheriff, an army captain during World War I and a mounted inspector along the Arizona-Mexico border. He held every rank as an Arizona Ranger such as sergeant and lieutenant. He was involved in several hunting and killing of outlaws in the state, including an encounter with bandit Joe Bostwick.
