The Municipal Council decided at a meeting in Washington in the week of May 30, 2003 to pursue the development of a full-fledged disclosure repository that will contain all of the features of a central post office facility as well. In addition, the council set up a subcommittee that, by the end of June, will create a nonprofit or some other entity that will narrow the list of five firms seeking to develop and operate the launched facility. Alan Anders, the Government Finance Officers Association debt committee's chief liaison with the Municipal Council said the council decided to develop a full-fledged repository, rather than just a central post office facility, after determining that the repository would not cost too much and would provide the greatest number of disclosure benefits to the municipal market.
