ABSTRACT
This article reports that the Chicago Purchasing Manager's Business Barometer was 52.2 in May 2003, up from 47.6 in April, reversing two months of declines and contraction. An index reading below 50 signals a slowing economy, while a level above 50 suggests economic expansion.
