ABSTRACT
DAVID CAMERON decided to make his much ballyhooed speech about an immigration crackdown on safe ground. He delivered it at the Staffordshire JCB factory owned by tycoon friend Lord Bamford, who has given millions to the Tory party. As Cameron was speaking, though, an alarm went off. Perhaps it was triggered by an angry worker in protest at JCB's axeing of 150 jobs — something, of course, not mentioned in the PM's address.
