ABSTRACT
In the current paper, satellite methods for research of gas content of the atmosphere are presented. The stress is on the satellite methods and the measurement geometry. A generalized characteristic of the absorption specters of the atmospheric ozone and gases into the optic range is presented when research with land and satellite appliances and apparatuses. An evaluation of the satellite methods is made when measuring the content of small gases. Scientific results are presented which are received by satellite experiments and the perspectives of satellite research are laid down.

Atmospheric ozone columns are derived from historic stellar spectra observed between 1935 and 1942 at Mount Wilson Observatory, California. Comparisons with contemporary measurements in the Arosa database show a generally close correspondence. The results of the analysis indicate that...

The present study had a general purpose to establish the possibility for mapping on a regional scale the actual evapotranspiration (ETR) in the Tunis region using remote sensing and mapping data. It relied on Landsat and SPOT image processing to obtain land-use cover. NOAA-AVHRR data was used to...

An efficient and economical method for mapping flooding extent in a coastal floodplain is described. This method was based on the reflectance features of water versus non-water targets on a pair of Landsat 7 Thematic Mapper (TM) images (before and during the flood event), as well as modelling...
