ABSTRACT
Peaceful settlement of international disputes is a basic principle of public international law, an idea as old as that of war or of the use of force to solve problems that may arise between states. "The importance of the principle of peaceful settlement of international disputes is given by the fact that, unlike the principles that seek to eliminate the possibility of an international dispute, this principle aims to conduct certain operations in order to resolve the dispute that has already occurred. In this article we are going to demonstrate the quality of the principle of peaceful settlement of international disputes as a fundamental principle of public international law.
