ABSTRACT
Not to be outdone by all the successful “reality” shows on television, the Food Network is producing a couple of its own shows. The program titled 'Date Plate' feature two contestants vying for the affections of a single dream date exclusively through their culinary skills. Both then prepare a meal that they think will entice the dream date to choose them over the other contestant. In the worst possible case dream date ditches both contestants and runs off with one of the chefs. Possibilities for the best and nightmare scenarios in the competition are also mentioned. Each year, around a hundred fugu diners unintentionally have the fish as their last meal, most because they patronized back-alley fugu joints without licensed chefs.
