ABSTRACT
The article discusses the findings of the U.S. Government Accountability Office on the programs of the Department of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs that helps servicemen transition to civilian life and handle the emotional effects of combat. It details how the study was conducted which involved searching of public information resources containing lists of programs. GAO reportedly identified 99 programs by the DoD including mental health and substance abuse services.
