ABSTRACT
University libraries in Germany spend a lot of time and human resources in training students in information literacy. But the success is not as high as desirable. After their studies the graduates start working in several organizations. There they find different resources which require an adapted strategy in information literacy. For the reorganization of those new strategies, the learning process of information literacy during the studies has to be changed. Defining the task and the need of information should be the first step, which also is the starting point of a personal knowledge strategy in lifelong learning.
