Jazzy Pha has the image of one of the best record producers in Atlanta, Georgia. A record producer is a large man, at least 230 pounds, wearing a yellow ski hat, silver-rimmed glasses, Skittle-sized diamond earrings and a jewel-encrusted crucifix hanging nipple-level on a thick gold chain. In 2002 alone, he has crafted new songs for performer groups Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg, resurrected old tracks by deceased performers Aaliyah and Tupac and created a career-making hit for the upcoming performer group Field Mob. Members of the songwriting group comprising Pha, Lemuel have never shared those lives quite as completely as they have since moving to Atlanta in August 2002. The room where they rehearse is their bedroom, their songwriting room, their card-playing room and their barbershop. They sleep on inflatable mattresses and borrowed couch cushions. There is a ragged little ironing board in one corner and garbage bags full of clothing against one of the walls. INSET: Making the Band.
