ABSTRACT
The article discusses the founding of the Music @ Menlo Chamber Music Festival and Institute in Menlo, California by pianist Wu Han and cellist David Finckel in 2003. Wu Han and Finckel had created a festival that focused on training and education as on performances and concerts for young and old in the 21st century. The duo partners went to extremes to create an enlightening thematic narrative in the concerts, symposia, and lectures for young string players and pianists.
