ABSTRACT
This article presents information about developments in investment banking related to the technology sector of the U.S. as of May 12, 2003. Ted Turner, AOL Time Warner Inc.'s retiring vice chairman, sold 50 million of his shares in the company and donated another 10 million to a charity. Earthlink Inc. said it is involved in a legal battle against a Buffalo, New York spam ring it claims has sent more than 825 million unwanted e-mails over its network since March 2002. The company said it is heading to the U.S. District Court in Alabama with hopes of shutting down the spam ring. Additionally, a shareholder-advisory group said it has told investors to vote against AOL Time Warner Inc.'s proposal to overhaul its stock option plan.
