U.S.-based Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) members have unanimously approved an updated disclosure policy that calls for municipal market participants to share the costs of a new central post-office disclosure facility“with minimal new cost to governmental issuers.” The policy was approved at the GFOA's membership meeting after being introduced by Monique Moyer, the chairwoman of the GFOA's debt committee, who is also director of the San Francisco mayor's office of public finance. In the policy adopted, the GFOA states that that new disclosure system “should allow governmental issuers to have ... cost-sharing among participants with minimal new cost to governmental issuers.”
