Six Akin Gump Public Finance Lawyers Jump to Dallas Firm

The Dallas, Texas-based law firm of Winstead Sechrest & Minick announced that six public finance lawyers from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld have joined their practice, including M. Paul Martin, the highly regarded Texas attorney whose legislation resulted in the creation of the Texas Public Finance Authority. Todd Brewer, the chairman of the firm's public finance practice, said the additions to his team are indicative of a concerted effort to beef up Winstead's presence in the public finance market. Martin, who will join the firm as a shareholder, is well known in Texas for writing the legislation that created the Texas Public Finance Authority, as well as for working on some of the state's first qualified zone academy bond issues and the state's first pollution control revenue bonds.
