ABSTRACT
The traditional image abstraction systems cannot flexibly deal with the lighting and make the results inanimate. So we present a dynamic lighting based image abstraction rendering system. For an input image, we decompose it into an intrinsic image and an illumination image using prior based illumination decomposition which effectively reduces the influence comes from the original illumination. Then, we get the image abstraction result using salient edge based image abstraction algorithm. Finally, in order to enhance the local gradients aligned with the lighting direction, we get the final dynamic lighting image abstraction effect by minimizing an energy function made up of the image color information and the expected gradient field. The experiment results show that our system can flexibly modify the illumination of the abstracted image, making the abstraction rendering results more vivid and has the academic research value and actual application prospect.
