ABSTRACT
WICKLOW captain Leighton Glynn insists he won't break the promise he made to hurling boss Casey O'Brien to ditch football next year. Glynn (right) confirmed ahead of Johnny Magee's appointment as the county's football manager that he will only play hurling at inter-county level in 2015. 'If Johnny calls, I'll talk to him, of course, but he knows exactly what my answer is going to be,' said Glynn on an expected approach from Magee. 'The commitment I've made to the manager of the hurling team is that I'm going to play for them only and I wouldn't go back on my word like that.' ÷ NEMO RANGERS guru Ephie Fitzgerald has been drafted in to replace fellow Cork man Paudie Kissane as Clare football coach. Former Limerick coach Fitzgerald, who guided Nemo Rangers to four Cork titles in a row in the mid-2000s, replaces Kissane who stepped down after just a single season with the Banner. Fitzgerald is currently in charge of Limerick club side Ballylanders, who will meet Clare champions Cratloe on November 16 if the Treaty side win their opening Munster tie.
