ABSTRACT
HOMELAND, 10.30PM, RTÉ TWO WHEN Nicholas Brody was executed in the third series finale, it seemed that this complex US drama had also breathed its last. Since the first episode, the plot revolved primarily around Brody's ambiguity - was the former marine-turned-Congressman a terrorist with al-Qaeda, or wasn't he? The other storyline, however, involved CIA agent Carrie Mathison, (Claire Danes, pictured) - and it turns out she's more than capable of carrying this fourth series alone. She's not flying entirely solo, of course - Saul (Mandy Patinkin), Fara (Nazanin Boniadi) and Quinn (Rupert Friend) have also returned. This week sees Carrie in the States for an inquiry and struggling with her ambivalence towards motherhood.
