ABSTRACT
Two in-calf heifers made 5000gns apiece during an all-action trade at the dispersal of the Kimpton Holstein herd at Beeston Castle in Cheshire, England, where 25 head sold at 2000gns and over. Sale average of £1482 had been achieved, with sales to some 40 buyers with stock heading to herds as far away as north-east Scotland, Northern Ireland and the south coast of England. Buyers latched on to the smart in-calf heifer Kimpton Principal Shadow. A cow and calf from the Shadow family were in demand with the calf, Kimpton Kingsclere Shadow, leading this section at 3600gns.
