Aberdeen Angus beef cattle are finished and part of the cereal harvest of wheat, oats and triticale is crimped in England as of April 2003. Tim and Louise Downes farm 230ha with Tim's parents in Shropshire, England of which 139ha is under contract. Home-cleaned spring bean seed has been drilled - 6ha of Compass and 5ha of Lobo varieties. The seed-bed was dusty on the surface, unusual for this time of year. Crops will be pre-emergent weed harrowed in a week's time and we anticipate this being the last input until harvest.
