ABSTRACT
This article focuses on rocks and minerals. Rocks are the hard, solid parts of the Earth's surface. Every kind of rock is made up of smaller pieces called minerals. Gold is a precious mineral that is found inside rocks, deep under the ground. A rock called marble comes in different colors and patterns. Gemstones or gems are rare and expensive kind of minerals. Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland was formed when hot, liquid rocks from deep inside the Earth gushed out onto the surface and then cooled and gradually hardened.
