ABSTRACT
In an ideal world, things are supposed to work in practicethe way they are presented in theory. Such is not the case with the so-called "consumer-driven" health plan model. The author has tried to be an educated health care consumer and shop around for medical treatment, prescription drugs and even for reliable health care information, but so far there has been no positive results. Despite encouragement for consumers to obtain information about their care, a doctor cannot be questioned for his judgment on a particular health care subject. It was found that employees use the Internet to obtain health care information to be lackluster despite employers' efforts to introduce them consumer-driven health care.
