ABSTRACT

Children's charity Barnardo's has found a way to encourage 6,000 line managers and staff to complete a newly agreed ECDL competency framework. A contract will be agreed between line managers and their staff to guarantee them the time they need to finish NETg's online training modules. Lisa Johnson, Barnardo's IT training account manager, says that staff had been concerned with cultural perceptions about online learning. The key objective of the ECDL project is to raise basic computer skills ready for an organisation-wide roll-out of a new CRM system by next year.
